Lullaby Archive Part Two

During HomeBase V, Soundfair invited children from the kindergarten close to the venue to sing lullabys. They were recorded and exhibited on a tape player in the space.

HomeBase’s objectives are to seek out areas of the urban environment undergoing transitional changes and integrate contemporary art into the everyday local experience, opening up the role of art as an educational tool for cross-cultural dialog, social integration, and community cultivation. The topic of “Home” as the basis for this inquiry is a universal theme that engages all populations – artists, local residents of all ages, ethnicaty’s, social and cultural background and social status, and is explored through a diverse array of lenses. Through this process walls of alienation are broken through and a new possibility of connecting to the ‘other’ is enabled.
